Overview

Manages all alternative design managers for pursuits and active projects within an assigned division.

What you will be doing

  • Design Leadership & Oversight
    • Guide design delivery across cable-stayed bridge, POEs (U.S. & Canada)
    • Coordinate disciplines including structural, geotechnical, drainage, ITS, architecture, and landscape design
  • Standards & Compliance
    • Ensure adherence to North American standards technical requirements), safety, environmental, and quality assurance protocols
    • Review and approve bridge analysis, structural drawings, clash models, and construction documents.
  • Cross‐Functional Coordination
    • Participate in constructability reviews, risk/value engineering sessions, and design-build coordination.
  • Site Support & Progress Monitoring
    • Conduct frequent site visits to oversee foundation works, tower erection, deck placement, POE construction, and interchange ramp execution
    • Provide design intent clarification and respond to Requests for Information (RFIs).
  • Innovation & Technology Integration
    • Promote BIM, parametric modeling, ITS systems (weather monitoring, smart border technology, video surveillance, lane control) incorporated into design
  • Team Leadership & Mentoring
    • Manage and mentor multi-discipline design teams (structural, CAD/BIM, civil, architectural, landscaping).
    • Develop junior engineers/design leads through training, design reviews, and technical guidance.

What we are looking for

  • Bachelor’s in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Minimum 10 years of experience on large-scale cable-stay bridge projects or other major infrastructure projects
  • Proficiency in structural analysis tools and BIM software (Revit, Navisworks)
  • Proven experience with multi-disciplinary design-build projects, ideally in P3 delivery models
  • Strong knowledge of ITS integration, sustainability, landscape architecture, and architectural design aesthetics
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and negotiation skills
