As the Health and Safety Coordinator & First Aid Attendant, you will play a dual role by supporting health and safety initiatives on-site while providing immediate first aid care in the event of workplace incidents.

What you will be doing

  • Act as the primary First Aid Attendant on-site, providing prompt medical care and ensuring proper documentation of injuries and incidents.
  • Conduct regular site safety inspections, audits, and hazard assessments.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and monitoring of safety policies, procedures, and site-specific safety plans.
  • Support incident and near-miss investigations, including documentation and follow-up on corrective actions.
  • Maintain all first aid kits, treatment records, and emergency supplies in compliance with WorkSafe BC and company standards.
  • Deliver site safety orientations and toolbox talks to new and existing employees.
  • Promote a positive safety culture by supporting worker engagement and reinforcing safe work practices.
  • Monitor worker compliance with personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements and site protocols.
  • Liaise with subcontractors, site supervisors, and project management regarding safety expectations and performance.
  • Track safety metrics and support monthly reporting requirements.

What we are looking for

  • Must have a valid OFA Level 3 Certification (must be current).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a safety role within the construction industry; previous experience on large infrastructure, industrial, or civil construction projects is an asset.
  • Solid knowledge of provincial safety regulations (e.g., WorkSafe BC) and best practices.
  • Experience in conducting workplace inspections, investigations, and training.
  • Experience on Joint Health and Safety Committees (JHSC) is an asset.
  • Additional certifications (e.g., WHMIS, Fall Protection, CSTS, Confined Space, TDG) are an asset.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure or emergency situations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and safety reporting tools.

CAD $75,000.00/Yr.
